Kinky Kar, Mazda R-100 Solo 2 Autocross car at the old Lakewood Fairgrounds, Atlanta, GA:
Mazda RX-3 GT3 leading an ex-Roush IMSA T-Bird at Road Atlanta:
I kept waving him by for over half a lap, but he never passed. I went over after the race to apologize for holding him up... he told me he didn't pass, since he couldn't catch me!
Hey everybody... I'm on the front row! Mazda RX-3 GT3, Road Atlanta.
The GT2 Datsun Z car had the pole. I figured he'd get the jump at the start. He did, too. I jumped him so bad at the start, after the race, he said it stunned him so bad, it took him three laps to recover and pass me for the overall lead. I finished first in class.

That's Bub Tullius in the Group 44 Jag XJ12, in front of me in my Bugeye. The Dark blue Austin Healy Sprite was my SCCA H-Production racecar from 1972 through 1979. The opportunity to be on the track with him came before raceday, when we were giving rides to the media. A camera in the car following me got the pic just right so you can't see the reporter in my right seat. Makes it look like my little Sprite is hot on the Jags tail. Not quite, but it was a big deal for me to meet Bob Tullius and chase around the track after him.

A few friends and I host this Hot Rod BBQ once a year on the streets of South Queens.
Mostly street cars with a few track cars. I have lots of pictures from over the years so I'll just post a few.
Two questions:
1. Did you do it again last summer? Did you have any more pics?
2. Did you find any slot car girls?

Great car! Unfortunately it was stolen when I was attending a friend's wedding in 1993! When it was found trashed a day later, the insurance company refused to pay to get it fixed so I reluctantly accepted a cash settlement.

There's nothin' like a bunch of old MGs...
I grew up with a Dad that was a collector of MGs. I think the total was thirteen, mostly TCs and TDs.
He did have one racing one for just a short time. I wish I knew how to use a scanner.

Never found the slot car girls but a few moms at the track when my son races on Sat nights.
No Hot Rod BBQ this year but I'll put up a few more pics soon.

Pretty but slow.
It's not just about how fast you go. It's about how you go about going fast.

I've owned one of these 1973 Dodge Chargers since it came off the lot but it's currently sitting in my garage awaiting an engine rebuild.
