Reading the thread on Roy Moody's cars got me to digging around.

I have here some pics of the track my father built in 1963. It was part of the MMARC aka Glenwood, IL, club track rotation, and one that Roy often attended races at. In 1964 a four-foot extension was added after the esses which resulted in a tricky shallow dog leg in the main straight. Around 1971 it was given to a local father and son.

Wow, nice track!

It would have been nice to be your neighbor...

I have a few pics in my collection as well. Raced there in 1968 or so. Production car classes were Monogram F1 and sports cars. Can-Am was run what you brung and these guys were using full sidewinder custom 13D size motors... with inside the can pinions.

I GOT to learn to post pics...

We continue the Chicago tradition with www.greatlakesscc.com with monthly racing.  This summer is a monogram can/am series with current production cars.  We just finished a 'Sebring chassis" series.  Look for the 'satans turf' utube video......

Here's a link to one of several pic-posting tutorials:

Although too young to race with the big guys at the time, I must have turned in about a bajillion laps on that layout. Friends came over from time to time as well. Some pretty good racers put in time on that track.

Fellas,

A truly beautifully built track !  The photos remind me of the "Paramount Ranch" track build from decades ago in one of the model car magazines..."table top" racing as it was known back in the day ! :D

We are having a Tourist Trophy race in two weeks and I will be racing a Maserati 151 and a Re-issued Monagram 275P , both with Sebring chassis.
