I have these, but need some that are at least 1/2" longer. Any ideas?

I haven't had some of the ones you have posted here. Could someone give me a length on them and how many you need? I've a bunch from a side project that are certainly longer. Bud Bartos uses mine on his frames.

Hi Guy,
Here's what I got.
My $5.95 one is fully hardened.
The $3.95 model is just soft enough, to be able to form into my Retro guide braces,
but still plenty strong.
The negative aspect of the S7, IMHO, is the lack of having a stop engineered in,
to handle all commercial guides, with the worse being the Red Fox, which rotates to a full 90 degrees.
FWIW, if were looking to get back into chassis production, I could produce one of your design.

Guy:
I've used the Slick 7 guide tongues on almost all of my Retro cars with no problems whatsoever. It's true that there's no specific guide stop but the guide does stop at 90 degrees. I guess I don't see a problem with that, especially so if you have your lead wires correctly set-up to return the guide to the straight ahead position. In addition it's long enough to accomodate virtually any guide length and it's made out of super hard spring steel.

A piano wire "U" soldered upside down on top of the Slick 7 guide tongue will provide a guide stop. Need less of an angle, make the "U" wider or use a larger diameter wire.

Hey!
Thanks everyone for the inputs, guys. Looks like the S-7 will best suit my needs. I'll try to order some through my local track if theyre available through distributors
