I did one of these for a guy in Europe. He supplied the body. I did another one for RT 93 raceway for the Race For The Cure. Check with them as they might know where to get them.

Curious to know what motor/chassis combo you plan to put under them?

Anyone got any info on these truck bodies? I would like to know where I can get a close look at them, or even better, my hands on one.

Joe,

Do you remember if it fit a 4" or 4.5" chassis?

Thanks,

Raceway I go to gets the JK truck body's, probably from ERIC... We run then on standard 4" stamped steel chassis.. There is also a JK RTR W/4.5 laser cut chassis, but it is no longer in production... So troll eBay for them...

No info on obtaining these bodies? It would be nice to hear from the owners of the ones that are pictured here. Is it a "club" thing or what? Special issue, private stock, or limited supply?

The trucks in this photo are Brazilian made and, I'm reliably told, 1:20 scale. Made in São Paulo by Lineo Pestana Fernandes.
They have scratchbuilt chassis underneath them but not 'Retro' chassis in the current meaning of the word.

A long discussion on these trucks, and how to obtain the bodies, took place on Facebook a few weeks ago. You might have to scroll down a way to find them.

It doesn't say their 1/20-- in fact the first post says the Porsche and truck bodies are 1/24.  FWIW   Plus--looking at that picture--the trucks have the proper amount of spacing between them on the track to be 1/24.  FWIW

Thank's for the lead, but I was unable to view due to not being a subscriber to face book. Can anyone relay any info that was mentioned that would lead me to locating these trucks? Tim thank's for your post. That answers one question that I had, what scale are they?

Fair point, Tim. I was only relaying my memory of a past discussion.
In actual fact the tractor unit from an articulated truck should be considerably wider than a race car in any scale, which should make these somewhere close to 1:30 scale by my rough reckoning.

Here's what my friend Andre wrote on that Facebook discussion, John.

"To all of you that have been asking about the beautiful 1/24 Porsche 962 and trucks from Lineo (São Paulo) :
The unpainted Porsche body (made in 0.30 mm lexan) costs R$ 40,00; painted R$ 100,00; complete Porsche less motor R$ 300,00.
Truck body, unpainted, made in 0.30 mm lexan : R$ 50,00; painted R$ 100,00; complete truck less motor R$ 350,00.
He will add to that the PayPal tax cost (I am not sure how much is that, perhaps 2,5% or 3%).
Postage from Brasil is not cheap, maybe R$ 40,00 for a box (the size of a shoe box).
£ 1.00 = R$ 3,20 / US$ 1.00 = R$ 2.20 / € 1.00 = R$ 2,80 at this moment. Rates have changed a lot lately."

The currency in Brazil was a bit volatile when I visited the place a while back. Good luck.

Regards,
Steve-a-roonie Kempson
