Seems some members aren't aware that when making a post at Slotblog there are two different views available in the posting screen.

 

Here is what I call the code view:

 

 

This view shows the raw code underlying the text. Note that all of the editing icons are grey-out except for the switch icon I have circled in red.

 

If you click that switch icon, you change to the display view:

 

 

The display view shows the text as it will appear to viewers once the post has been made. Note that the editing icons are no longer greyed-out and are active when this view is being used.

 

You can switch back and forth between the views as desired. Not sure I can tell you which view will come up for you when you start a new post or thread, but just click the switch icon to get the view you want.

How does one edit a post that has been posted? Step by step, please, I ain't real smart.

First of all, you only have an 8 hour edit "window." After 8 hours, you cannot edit a post you made and have to get me or a mod to do it for you.

 

Any post you make will have an edit button available to you (as mentioned, for 8 hours). The edit button is circled in red below. To enter the edit mode, just cick the button.

 

 

This gives you access to the text block for editing purposes.

 

If you wish to edit the subject line, or to add or remove attachments, you need to go into the full editor. The full editor button is circled in red below; just click the button.

 

 

Regardless of which editor you use, you must click the save changes button to finalize your edit.
