IRRL Schedule for 13-14

 

Need to get on top of this.  Time is a wasting.

Was waiting for the GL ISRA schedule to be made, which it just was 2 or 3 days ago.

 

Also with the Barrington track just changing hands, I have to see if Forest will have it set up in time for next season.

 

BTW, last years draft was Sept. 3rd.

 

That said, it'll get done much earlier this year.

I would plead with the organizers to consider major 1:1 events when setting dates. Many slot heads are also gear heads and enjoy attending and participating in full scale motor sports... a word to the wise and all of that.

Do you have some key dates handy ?

 

Do you know if Road America has it's 2014 schedule set yet, so we don't conflict with the May and June IRRL races ?

I get your point Mr. Swiss.

 

I'd suggest looking at the problem from a creative angle, such as:

 

Publish the first half of the IRRL season dates (that fall in the 1:1 racing "off season") and then publish the other half of the IRRL season dates when the 1:1 dates are known (typically late January). Or something equally "win-win" oriented.

 

If it can work for AMC's series "Breaking Bad" final season why not try it for IRRL?

I can only fill you in on vintage racing events. These are etched in stone for the remainder of 2013,

and I am only listing the events which are in the central U.S.

July 26 - 28; Waterford Hills Vintage Races (Mich.)

 

August 16 - 18; VSCDA Vintage Grand Prix Au Grattan (Mich)

 

Sept 6 - 8; VSCDA Vintage Fall Festival; Road America

 

October 18 - 20; Historic Races with SCCA at Gateway Motorsports Park ( E. St. Louis, Il)

Very good intentions, but sometimes you have to set your schedule for a series and let the chips fall.

 

Where do you draw the line? IndyCar, NASCAR, Winged Sprints, NHRA?

 

We'd never race slots if we had to consider everyones favorite 1:1 racing schedule.

 

I know, I finished 2nd more than once in the MKK Go Kart championship because I went to IMSA and CART races, and I was on the rules commitee, setting race dates!
