First up, a chassis I've never seen before.  It has cut outs that align with the motor and are stamped, so I assume it's production and designed especially for this motor.  Any ideas who made it and if it was just sold as an aftermarket part, which I assume it was?

Next up, anyone recognise this?

Yes, it's a K&B.  Bet you never saw one like this underneath:

Aside from the obvious fact that they've used the back of two of the kangaroo chassis to make a 4WD, the other unusual bit is that the motors are 36Ds and they look like a perfect fit in the brackets.  I thought these chassis only came in the Hellcat version.  I haven't checked, but I wouldn't think the 36D would swap in for the Hellcat.

Looks like the builder would have been dissappointed by their work as the motors are wired to run the wheels in opposite directions!  I tried it on the track and it just sat there with both motors fighting each other.

Regards,

:laugh2: Having a tractor pull on it's own. Or was it having a tractor crush?

That first one is different. Not seen one of them either.

Steve,

The pouch for K&B's Kangaroo chassis was also designed to hold the 36D, besides the Hellcat - that was their big claim on the ad for this chassis.

Not sure on the first one; it looks a bit like a Corben chassis, but that was only for the DC85 as far as I remember... ooops, just checked and in an ad from June 1964 they also list a chassis for the DC70, so this must be it, part number 915...

I also believe the first one is a Corben.
