Race 7 of the 2013 Bay Area FCR Championship at Eddie’s Slot Car World.

 

Gary Hooks wins race 7 of the 2013 Bay Area FCR season.

 

Gary Hooks took another decisive win for the 7^th race of the Bay Area Championship season. Gary led from the beginning and stayed out ahead the field. He also avoided some of the early carnage as the others became their own worst enemies. I have never seen so many cars launched to the floor or the walls.

Gary finished with 246 laps and a fastest lap of 5.43.

 

Wolf Immel took second place with 233 laps (and the next place fastest lap of 5.87) followed by Randy Tragni in 3^rd with 231 laps and Sam Rock in 4^th with 228 laps driving a TragniTune® spare car

 

Farther back in the pack…..a strong showing by Eric Jan (217 laps), Ray Villanova (212 laps), Richard Clark (208) and Jean Evrard (205).

 

Missing in action is Justin Colvin who, along with father Mike, was in Washington running the Flat Track championship. Also, Uncle Gary made a guest appearance to say hi while he continues to mend.

 

Thanks to official race director Sue Villanova, as well as Eddie and Janet Wong and others for turn marshaling.

 

The next race of the 2013 Bay Area Championship FCR Race will take place on Sunday, August 11th at 2PM at Eddie’s.  Who’s going to stop Gary Hooks!

Points are awarded to the first six finishers:

10 points for first place, 8 points for second, 6 points for third, 4 points for fourth, 2 points for fifth, 1 points for sixth.

 

The 2013 Bay Area FCR Championship points and position standings:

1^st Gary Hooks with 50 points (+10)
2^nd Justin Colvin with 46 points (nc)
2^nd Wolf Immel with 46 points (+8),
3^rd Randy Tragni with 38 points (+6)
4^th Sam Rock with 17 points (+4)

5^th Ray Villanova with 10 point (+1)

6^th Eric Jan with 6 points (+2)
7^th Frank Rotgaber with 4 points (+nc)

 

Also run, Outlaw FCR Nascar on the King. Outlaw FCR use the same 4.5 inch FCR chassis with a ProSlot sealed Chinese 16D motor.

Gary Hooks barely wins! This was a really tight race. Randy led the first half of the race then traded lead with Gary until the finish. In the end Gary’s car was at the lead-on to the main straight while Randy’s car was in the short shoot after the donut maybe 10 feet back. This race was truly tense and exciting.

Finishing order was: Gary (254 laps, fastest lap of 5.43), Randy (254 laps, fastest lap of 5.48), Wolf (237 laps, fastest lap of 5.59), Ray (233, fastest lap of 5.60), Eric (222, fastest lap of 5.87).
