Don,
Did you race at Darin' Man?
I never raced there but I played there a few times.

My chassis were sanded with that cross pattern to hide the little scratches that always occurred during chassis building and that didn't disappear when chassis were cleaned with Comet and tooth brush... I agree that recreated chassis should not be tumbler shiny... I hope the new owner appreciates what he is getting... Now, if only he can find a Bob Kean motor to put in it...

Don,
Did you race at Darin' Man?
Yes. In Inglewood next door to Issac Litton High School that used to go to a major parade every year because they could play Spanish music.

Bob,
I stand corrected about your sanded cross pattern.
I'm pretty sure it was TonyP who mentioned the reason was to make the car more recognisable from across the room. I'll have to ask him.

Bob I know you can hear me this chassis was built for me to replace the chassis you built for me this was the exact chassis you built for me in the 60s,i was lost,I know have it and by the grace of Steve it was built and put back in my collection replacing a lost precious memory given to me by you, what's missing is the champion can and Greenaway 24 arm to complete the car, is anybody out there willing to put the car back together completely,i have the Greenaway armature.
I'm so glad Bob interacted with this build,I had asked him if he would be able to build it for me but unfortunately he wasn't up to it physically,i hope it brought him pride in seeing it be replicated in honor of his greatness, again thanks Bob for your greatness and humbleness at the same time, and thanks to Steve for his kindness and his unreal amazing talent, the workmanship is impeccable unsurpassed, an amazing tribute to a amazing innovator in Bob emott.
