MSCS: Midwest Slot Car Series 2013-14 Rules​
 

LMP
 

Chassis
1. Any 4" chassis that is commercially available.
2. Must be stamped and formed metal only.
3. May brace chassis in any way.
4. A steel guide tongue reinforcement may be used, but the original guide tongue may not be removed, modified, or moved.
5. May use lightweight replacement pans, but must be from the same manufacturer.
6. Must use oilites; no ball bearings permitted.

Gears/Axles/Wheels
1. 64 or 72 pitch gears.
2. 11 tooth (64 pitch) or 12 tooth (72 pitch) pinion only.
3. Solid steel axles.
4. Rear tires must be black foam; 0.750" minimum diameter.
5. Maximum width is 3-1/4".
6. 0.062" clearance at the back, up to the rear axle including the gear.
7. No minimum at front, but front wheels must touch track if chassis is rocked side to side.
8. Rear axle: 3/32".
9. Front axle 0.047" diameter minimum or sticker fronts.
10. No Speed rubber.

Lead Wires
1. Magnet wire or magnet type wire is not allowed.
2. Guide clips are allowed.
3. May add wire guide or retainer.

Bodies
1. Bodies must be commercially available and on approved body list.
2. Maximum rear spoiler height of 1-5/8". measured from the tech block to the top of the spoiler.
3. Must have three scale-appearing numbers.
4. Bodies must be fully painted and cover the entire chassis.
5. May reinforce body with tape or Lexan.
6. All windows must be clear and retain factory Lexan.
7. Front wheel wells may be cut out or left clear. No cutting into top of fenders.
8. Body must have fully-painted 3D Lexan interior; chassis or track must not be visible.

Motor
1. JK Hawk 7
2. Fast Ones Demon
3. Trinity Evil 9
 

4" NASCAR

11. No COT bodies.

Motors
1. Parts must be commercially available.
2. Any D-Can set-up.
3. Arms must be tagged American 16D.
4. Single ceramic magnets only.
5. May epoxy or super glue magnets.
6. No air gap honing is allowed.
7. May use any three-coil spring.
8. May use any brushes; cutting or drilling is not permitted.
9. No aluminum endbells.
10. Ball bearings in can only.

Armature Specs
1. Minimum diameter: 0.513".
2. Minimum stack length: 0.600".
3. Wire size: AWG #30.
4. Min number turns per pole: 70.
5. Tag: 16D.

GTP

7. No air gap honing is allowed.
8. May use any three-coil spring only.
9. May use any brushes; cutting or drilling is not permitted.
10. No aluminum endbells.
11. Ball bearings in can only.

Armature Specs
1. Minimum diameter: 0.513".
2. Minimum stack length: 0.490".
3. Wire size: AWG #28.
4. Min number turns per pole: 60.
5. Tag: S16D.

FCR
Beginner & Advanced

General Rules
1. FCR Beginner and Advanced will be run together unless total entry is above 14 entires. In this case Beginner and Advanced will be run seperately.

Chassis
1. Parma FCR 4.5'' Chassis #578.
2. A steel guide tongue reinforcement may be used, but the original guide tongue may not be removed, modified, or moved.

Gear/Axles/Wheels
1. 48 pitch gears ONLY.
2. 9 tooth pinion ONLY.
3. Oilies only; no ball bearing permitted.
4. May use steel pinions.
5. 1/8'' solid steel axles.
6. Rear tires must be Parma FCR tires or Parma Tuna tires.
7. 0.062" clearance at the back, up to the rear axle including the gear.
8. Must use stock axle spacers only.
9. No offset permitted.
10. May apply fingernail polish to front tires.

Lead Wire/Guide Flag
1. Magnet wire or magnet type wire is not allowed.
2. Guide clips are allowed.
3. May add wire guide or retainer.
4. May use any guide flag.

Bodies
1. Bodies must be commercially available and on approved body list.
2. Must have three scale-appearing numbers.
3. Bodies must be fully painted and cover the entire chassis.
4. May reinforce body with tape or Lexan.
5. All windows must be clear and retain factory Lexan'
6. Body must have fully-painted 3D Lexan interior; chassis or track must not be visible.
7. No floppy interiors.

Motors
1. Beginners
  b. Sealed Parma 501 Deathstar ONLY.
  c. May solder can bushing in place
  d. May use any brushes; cutting or drilling is not permitted.
  e. Must use stock five-coil springs.
2. Advanced
 a. Must use Parma 501 Deathstar armature ONLY.
 b. NO BALANCING of armature is allowed (drill or epoxy).
 c. Must use Parma Rotor can ONLY.
 d. Must use Parma 501 or 502 endbell and hardware ONLY.
 e. Must use Parma EPX Magnets ONLY.
 f. No air gap honing is allowed.
 g. No shimming of magnets is allowed.
 h. Must maintain .575"-.585" air gap.
 i. May use any brushes; cutting or drilling is not permitted.
 j. May use any three-coil springs.
 k. Ball bearings are not permitted

Controller
1. Must use the Parma Turbo controller.
