So sad to hear of Oscar's passing.

He always had a big grin and handshake whenever he arrived at BPR for a day of racing.

He loved racing slot cars and especially enjoyed reminiscing about the good old days in the 60's.

We'll miss you Oscar.

My condolences to his family.

Wow... Oscar was such a great person. I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person, but he and I have talked many times. I have cars built for him with his name engraved. They will stay on my wall forever in remembrance of him.

RIP, my friend.

Wow a shock! What happened? I was always looking forward to seeing Oscar at the Checkpoint Cup races. Seeing his great smile. He had a real passion and love for slot racing.

Will miss you, Buddy! Save a lane for all of us!

This is a major shock, I did not see this coming at all.

To Oscar, my Pebblestone enduro teammate, thanks for the memories, please rest in peace.

My condolences to his family, I know they meant so much to him.

Sincerely,

Gary Donahoe

Man, I hate to hear this.

After he joined Slotblog, Oscar called me and we had a very pleasant conversation getting to know each other a little. And of course, when Jay and I attended the Checkpoint Cup in 2011, I was able to meet Oscar in person.

RIP, Oscar.

Oscar was a very active member of Team Tokyo at Buena Park Raceway.

Oscar, please rest in peace.

I received a call around 5 PM this afternoon with this news and was completely floored! Oscar and I go way back, three decades to be exact and at this very moment I'm still in a state of shock.

Oscar was my friend and even though we some times didn't agree with one another we both knew it was simple banter and moved onto the next part of life. Oscar bud, I will miss your calls asking for advice. I will miss the jabs at me you posted on Facebook about "rent is due, what car are you selling this month?". Bud, I will simply just miss you!

RIP, my friend.

Oscar was one of the most generous individuals I have ever met in slot racing, or in life for that matter. He was always ready with a loaner car, a pinion (and an opinion of course) for anyone who needed it.

Oscar formed his enduro teams with careful thought not for how to win but for how to have the most fun, and most times we managed to do both.

This is a great loss for us here in SoCal, for his family, and for everyone who knew the old Grouch.

RIP, my friend, it was an honor to have known you.

I can hear Zimmerman and Morales argueing about whats better... a fast car, or a great-handling car?
looks like they'll have all eternity to do testing on that king track PdL mentioned...

While I never met "The Bugman" in person I sure did have fun in the Dynamic Challenge race with him.
We had points battle banter thing going on as we both ran 'old' Pittman motors.
I am so glad he beat me going down the stretch of the last few races. Way to go. Oscar!!! I'll miss ya.
Sorry to all you guys that raced with 'The Grouch' locally... you lost a great race buddy.

Oscar was one of my best slot racing buddies I have. He and I spent many days slot racing at the track and at my home. Oscar also was an avid freshwater trout fisherman, he and I always had a new fish story to tell each other at the race.

I write this with a heavy heart because it really hurts when you lose one of your best and really good friends. I wish his family the best.

Rest in Peace my friend, Rest in Peace
