This chassis design was a collaboration between Andre Acker from South America and Richard Mack of England. While not a total “scratchbuild”, Andre informs me that there were only 31 manufactured so I thought it was unique enough to post here.

This chassis was designed to have the dimensions of “scale” while having the performance characteristics of “Eurosport”.  As you can see, the kit provides several front strut configurations, which are designed to provide a variety of tire diameters as well as wheelbases.

Here is the completed chassis.  There are two versions - a short wheelbase and long wheelbase (I don't have the exact dimensions but I have both chassis so I can get them).  This is the short wheelbase, built with the longest wheelbase possible - 75mm.

The front wheels are Riggen "Wide Oval" wheels that I've cut down and drilled out.

Here is the completed chassis.  The body is a Truescale Ferrari 312pb.  So, in order to be somewhat prototypical, I drilled out the wheels with five holes and painted them with Testors gold lacquer.  The gold flakes were bigger than I would have liked but I was too lazy to make another trip back to the hobby shop.

The rear tires are just your basic Eurosport hubs, drilled, mounted and then painted.

And the completed car.  I just need to add a rollbar!

As an aside, for as "unscale" as this car is, it is probably the most "scale" car I've ever built.  I'm slowly getting there.

Love it! Great job with the chassis & the whole car :D  Those Riggen fronts are a nice touch.

Really love the track! Did you build it yourself?

Chris Dadds built the raw track, which consisted of 9 pieces, and shipped it to me.

I built the finished product.
