Richard Clark wins the first Rohnert Park 400 at SCR.
This past Sunday, September 29, a Bay Area FCR exhibition enduro was held at SCR Raceway in Rohnert Park, CA. FCR cars were run to Bay Area FCR rules on Frank Sarkela’s blue King for 400 laps.
Richard Clark wins the first Rohnert Park 400 at Slot Car Raceway. Richard was on home turf and had a dialed-in car. He led from near the start and walked away from the pack. He also grabbed fastest lap of 6.101 secs on the blue lane. Way to go, Richard! It shows that hard work pays off.
Close behind were Vegas, Jeff, Russ, Randy, and Bluey. This was a very close race overall with a winner, but no real losers. Congratulations to all.
Concours honors go to Russ Toy for his Monster Car.
There were a number of non-slot car local events going on and participation was weak because of these. Six racers took the challenge on the King at SCR. It was a lot of fun and all attending had a great time. We plan to do this again soon expecting better attendance as the weather deteriorates and people move indoors.
