40 years ago i would carry my slot car stuff to Monaco slot track in Buena Park in a small plastic fishing box. All the time wishing I had one of those cool wooden boxes all the older guys had. Well now that I am back in the hobby i told myself i would have that box. Although I have never done any wood work I went out and bought a table saw and went at it. I was proud of how my first attempt at a pit box has turned out and so i just had to post.

I think it turned out real nice considering you didn't even have a table saw or any woodworking experience before you started. Takes a lot of time doesn't it.
Two thumbs up.

As the other gentlemen have said, you've done a great job on your initial project. Woodworking can be fun & is something you can do the rest of your life.

I have seen the cool boxes you build Craig so i'm sure you are just kidding. But, Slot Car City has asked me to build a few for the store so i will be making more. Maybe we could work out a deal for some of those cool chassis you build.

That could be arranged!

Have made 4 boxes for Slot Car City (SCC) that sold in couple weeks so was asked for 2 more. These are the two i have made. I sell these to SSC for $120.00. I thought about selling over the internet and would like your opinion if you think people would pay that price with a shipping cost of $50.00 or is that to steep

Box price sounds fair Kevin, shipping may be a little steep.
If I were you, I'd check with the major shippers for exact price based on where they are going to be shipped to on a case by case.

They look really nice for that price!! Craig's right--shipping should be more reasonable. Check with FedEx ground--or UPS ground. I think you'd sell a bunch!!

Yeah you might try different shippers. Once the weight gets up there some places like Post Office get really expensive.

The side compartments should have more slots closer together. Otherwise they look great. Nice craftsmanship.

Really nice...
As an added feature you could add organizer compartments to the drawers:

And don't forget your own packing costs and labor.
This is one big reason it would be great to get (or, become) local sourcing on these things. Out in my neighborhood, Jim Williams at HVR has been doing a fine biz by driving his product around himself. One fellow in each state or thereabouts would be ideal.
