Decided to build this Cheetah for practice... Body, wheels, motor mount and drop arm are vintage items...

Yes... Copper motor bracket was pretty thin, thought thisQuestion: Are you using four rear axle oilite bushings?
Thanks.Compliment: Nice nerf side pipes!
Northwest: Defiance.Question: What part of rural Ohio are you residing?
Don't know about that, but I have a few ideas on design...Compliment: You'll likely be the Big dog chassis builder of us two in Ohio!! Keep up the practice.
I'm a wing car racer, so I have assembled and straightened a ton of chassis...Question: How long has it been since you last built a slot car?

Love the way you used the old practice of twisting two lengths of lead wire together. Just the way we used to do it.

Doesn't twisting the wires like that stiffen the lead wires? I recall running doubles & triples when I ran wing cars, but we always ran each lead straight.

Very interesting build! I'd like to know where the 26D brackets were obtained, and if there are more? Also, how did those wide fronts handle? I like the look, but concerned about the performance of a tire that wide.

REHCO had 26D brakets. At one time, they packaged a 26D with the more popular "Dubro" 16D bracket. That particular 26D bracket used 5/32" tubing rather than bushings for the rear axles. These could be drilled out for bushings, but REHCO may have others.

Car was built as a shelf queen. Ran it on the king at Miamisburg OH,
fantastic straight away speed but the tires were not correct for real
lap times. If I ever get time to build my home track will revisit the project
and make it handle.
