I guess he figured out how to break his RH in time before tech. LOL.

When the power clicked on to start the GTC-FK A Main, Eric Gehrken in orange grabbed the early lead, followed by Tony Lamb, Dale Granger, and Gary Clinton Sr. Some hard racing shuffled places by mid-heat, and the order became Tony Lamb, Dale, and Eric. At heat's end, Eric held the lead with 31 laps, followed by Dale, Doug Murphey, and Rube Brantley, all with 30 laps.
In heat 2, Dale and Eric were neck and neck, with Rube pressing hard to join the lead pack. Then it was Dale and Rube going at it, with Eric dropping back. Dale stretched it out a bit and at the end of the heat, it was Dale with 62 laps, Rube with 61, and Doug and Tony with 60.
Dale continued to lead in the third heat, with Rube chasing him hard and Tony holding third. Three laps covered the entire field through most of this heat.
In heat 4, the lead swapped around a lot, first Dale, then Rube passed him for the lead, then Tony led for a few laps, before Doug clawed his way to the front. Rube grabbed the point back and kept it when the power went off, followed by Dale and Tony.
Segment five saw Rube pulling out on Dale but Dale reeled him in, the pair being shadowed the Tony and Doug. At the end of the heat, the order was Dale, Doug, and Rube all with 151 laps, with Tony in fourth with 150.
In heat six almost everyone got a chance to lead. First it was Dale, Doug, Rube, and Tony. Then it was Doug, Dale, and Rube, then Doug, Rube, Dale, with Gary Sr and Tom banging on each other for fourth. Then Rube took the point, followed by Dale and Doug. Heat six ended with the order being Dale, Rube, and Doug.
In heat 7, Rube on white and Dale on purple fought for the lead, with Doug falling back. Rube deslotted but a quick marshal allowed him to remain ahead, with Doug now a lap back of the lead pair. After seven segments, it was Rube 213 laps, Dale 212, and Doug and Gary Sr 210.
The last heat saw Rube on red with a lap in hand on Dale on black. Doug led Gary Sr for third, though Gary passed him with a minute to go to drop Doug to fourth. Rube stayed in and ran fast to keep Dale behind him and at the final power-off, it was Rube Brantley 244 laps, Dale Granger 242, Gary Clinton Sr 241, Doug Murphey 240, Eric Gehrken 240, Tony Lamb, 236, Adam Chaya 233, and Mark Craven 233.

I'll do similar reports on the remaining A Mains, but not for Can-Am on Sunday as I have to get Jay to the Philadelphia airport by 6 PM so he can be at work in AL on Monday morning.
