Well, you know what they say about best laid plans...

Jersey John handed me a killer F1 car, and Mike Iles lent me a 30-band Difalco, and insisted I race in F1. After about 25-30 practice laps, I qualified in the G Main (the mains went down to H!) and was fortunate enough to finish in second place, which meant I moved up to the F Main.

The F Main was additional proof that I'd rather be lucky than good (though none was really needed). It was one of those special runs you get where everyone else had trouble and/or got wrecked, and I missed it all. And after the previous race, I was kinda getting my rusty finger back in shape. Ended up taking the F Main by ten laps over some very good racers.

Wasn't so lucky in the E Main, and drove out a few too many times. Wasn't in the hunt to win but hoped to podium and just missed it by two laps, taking fourth. Then, of course, I had to marshal the D Main...

All of this is to explain why I got so far behind in posting the F1 results. Fortunately I understand Frank the Tank has been posting the results to SpeedZone's Facebook page.

I'll post the A Main results here now and get the remaining results posted as soon as I can.

Greg,

What do you call the dance step you were gyrating to in one on your heats? :)

Not much to say except that this A Main was one heck of a race. Jay Kisling charged as hard as he could but Matt Bruce was simply not to be denied the win in F1.

Congrats also to Joe "Noose" Neumeister, who won the D and C Mains to move up to the B. Great job, Noose! If you thought Noose was just a painter and "The hardest working guy in Retro©", think again.

Jay Guard has to be back in AL for work at 6 AM Monday morning, and the latest flight out of Philly was at 6 PM Sunday, so we won't be able to race Can-Am tomorrow. We may show up and watch a bit of qualifying early tomorrow but then we have to head for Philadelphia.

Which means I won't be able to post Can-Am racing results during the day tomorrow, but promise to complete the results when I am able to do so.

If you meant to attend the Fall Brawl IV but for whatever reasons did not do so, shame on you. You missed a killer event at one of the top raceways in the US. Put next year's race on your calendar now and start working to get your A game ready!

Congrats to Matt, and also to Jay, Duran, and Jason Holmes. Must have been some race!  :)

Now Retro is to the level of old days of pro-racing in the late 1960s, early 1970s, and this is not a pejorative statement.

Congratulations to all the racers and to SpeedZone for putting on such a nice event...

Hope that some of the East Coast guys are able to make it out West for the Checkpoint Cup, to join Retro Japan and all their racers that are coming...

Mill,

You will get your wish, as a bunch of the guys that are here will be attending the Cup and more of US for The Left Side as they say from here should plan on attending this race next year. It is a blast.

Gorski trot? Looked more like St Vitus' dance LOL.

PdL is right... I think this event crossed the line and can be counted as one of the great events in slot car History. I salute all those that were there on this day.
