Super if real! I like the old AMR track railing... the illustrator must have gotten his inspiration in vintage mags!  :D

Hi PDL,
Yes, it's very much real! :)
As Rick pointed out its the present track at RT93, the guys name is Russell, and that is BreadMans daughter. Both holding Difalco controllers.
The cars are FCR topped with an S&E Outlaw NASCAR body.
I personally have been informed of a 2nd being in the works! :)
At this time, it's not my privilege to announce, when & where this billboard will soon be seen by literally 1,000's of commuters on a daily basis here in Ohio.
Glad, to know its tickled your fancy! LoL :)

WOW, I hope it's visible when I take the ride from Ravenna to the track. You guys are really putting out some serious efforts to bring the hobby to the attention of others. Keep up the good work, John/Diana. BTW, any plans to bring hardbody racing to the track in the near future?

This is one thing our hobby has never had... ADVERTISING.

Great to see someone taking the initiative.

Michael,

It is amazing that some tracks STILL have not taken advantage of the FREE advertising here on SB and on other blogs with Track Directories.

This billboard takes it to another level. Everyone who sees it knows Slot Racing is here and doing well. I talk to many former racers from the 60s who did not know the hobby still existed. The slot manufactures should start looking into more exposure like this billboard.

Raisin, were you there for the JPVR race in euroland with the topless girl complete with full coverage helmet, controller & nothing else up on a billboard ad like this one??? Would have been '86 or 87...

Yes I was there, finished 2nd to P. A. Watson in the GP7 race. Somewhere I have a couple of pictures I took of that billboard but it could take me years to find them!

I don't want to take anything away from the Billboard. It's great to see something like this in the slot car world. Just want to mention that the bodies used are apparently a back pour of a mold I made for Vacuum Formed Creations / Fast Tracks and Hobbies  a few years ago(the bodies are still available from them). It was the first mold I ever made. S&E is a home track a few miles away.

Thread drift alert!

Chad,

How can you tell that from a picture of a billboard? They may be originals.

However....this practice of so called back pouring seems prevalent in slots. Any lawyer out there want to take this on Pro Bono?

They have actually been selling the the same "S&E Outlaw NASCAR body" on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/...0-/261288745368

Just wanted to point out where the body actually came from. I was just surprised that someone who lives a mile away from me would go to the trouble of back pouring a body. It's cool to see it on a bill board. I never thought it was that good but I am glad some people liked it. I am not concerned about the legal aspect of it because as you said it is rather prevalent.
