Another of these small attractive racecars from the late 60's - early 70's. This time Danish Champ Erik Høyer's 1970 Austin Cooper Grp.2 car. Høyer was nearly unbeatable in his impeccably prepares car in the below 1300ccm in the late 60's

Actually he is still active in Historic Racing in Denmark, even he is in his 70's :-)  Great !!!

A lot of work with the decals, but the result was ok, so now on to the body details and making the interior :-)

Here in the U.S., most people don't know what a REAL mini looks like; they'd be shocked to see how small they are. And to see video of a rally segment by a mini... well, they'd be shocked at that too! LOL

Looks good, Niels! Throw that hand-brake, there's hairpin coming!

My aunt in Holland owned a Mini Morris at one time. Perfect car for a small country.

I had a MG 1100 which was kind of like a Mini's bigger brother. Very similar running gear.

Hell, most of my generation out here in New Zealand grew up living/driving these cars  :)  :)

I would bet that more people in the United States recognize a Real BLMC Mini than you think.  I have owned and driven two of them, the first was an 850CC Morris with a single Carb.  The second was a 998 Austin that I later replaced the motor with a 1275 out of an Austin America.  Great little cars with the 10" tires and they ruled the autocross scene for many years in the 70s and 80s.

Great car Niels. Glad to see you didn't make it front wheel drive.

For nine years I owned nothing but a Mini....then two minis. One was a 1275cc Clubman square nose, the other the 1000 cc round nose.

Both were setup for fast road use...

I eventually sold them due to the wife of the time regularly  complaining " I don't like seeing you in an old car"

More fool me.

Awesome Mini! The Escort isn't half bad either :D  Had an original Mini 1000cc for my first road car.... Totally FUN car!! With wheels right out on all four corners and a unique suspension system went round corners like a go kart :dance3:
