I just installed a Hillclimb in Northridge, CA. Track is 8.5 x 20'. Four-lane, 4.25" lane spacing. 1/4" steel braid flush with surface. Professor Motor power supply, Trackmate timing.

Owner will let me know when guests can come play. ;)

Aw shucks, and I was trying to keep it quiet Dennis.  It's a great track.  Laying down rubber on all the lanes now breaking it in.  Have already turned in 4.3 on the middle lanes running flex chassis with 16d motors.  Looking forward to building up my inventory of 1/32 cars as well.

Sorry Tim!

Didn't mean to spoil the surprise, I was just excited to see you with a track of your own! It shows how much you are enjoying your racing and it will help enormously to improve your performance at BPR. I know I am better for having a track at home.

Next time we meet, ask me about 1/32 cars, they are a lot of fun too.

Welcome to the track owners club Tim...... Your racing at Buena Park is improving, and your willingness to learn is the most important thing....  The day that I set up your Cap Henry flat track car over at my pit space showed me that you want to learn and that you could see the differences....   Glad to have you racing with us...

I learned to race Aurora HO slot cars with my Dad.  For a couple of years in a row starting back in 1964, Dad would stay up all Christmas Eve getting the track back in working condition.  Today with the help of Bob Scott, I now have a 73'  4 lane wood routed track that has a footprint of 20' x 8.5'.

So I guess it's all come full circle.  My Dad started racing slot cars with his son in 1964.  Now his son is returning the favor to his Dad so he can race again in 2013.  Dad is 86 years old now.  He moves much slower.  He need to push his rollater to get around.  However, I'm looking forward to seeing that "twinkle" in his eye every time he picks up a slot car hand controller after almost 50 years of being away from the sport.

Nice natural lighted racing room as well and good idea on the rubber mats. Is there a renaissance in home raceways in Southern California or what.

Added some track lighting on the lower level for night racing.  Winner's circle scenery added to the donut area.   More scenery to be added down the line.

A few days ago, my cousin Peter Silseth was visiting from Minneapolis.  Peter is a professional videographer and we had some fun racing at Valley Fever Raceway with my wife Cheryl shooting the action and Peter doing the editing.

I liked it when you first posted about it and it just seems better. A mini hillclimb is probably my favorite design for a home track. I'm sure it is loads of fun. Bob, it's a great looking track. You sure build nice tracks and are good pr for slot racing.
