Very interesting.  Could slot car body mold making now be dragged into the 21th century?!!

Looking forward to the first Retro sports car body produced in this manner. Hope you are considering doing a Ti22 so we can see what a vacuum formed version it should really look like...

That is one nice looking body. Dead straight and most importantly left side exactly like the right side. That's how every body should be mastered from here on out. I will need a few of those please.

Right on or left off or whatever they say. I would rather move a cemetery than mount an F1 body! With lines that square and crisp it ought to be easier.

What I really like about that body is the attention paid especially to the front. Molding the air ducts deep and the extended body skirts at the bottom around the front axle. This will stiffen the body, keep it from tearing at the axle cutouts and most importantly won't need to ride the guide post, keeping the front of the car freed up. A+

This looks perfect. I would like to buy three of these myself, so add me to the list!

As a side note, glad to see this technology being used to create new pieces for this hobby, and glad to see it working well for you guys. My father has been using 3D printers in his jewelry factory for almost a year now, but it has been nothing but a struggle and complete nightmare for us. Neat to see what these things can do when being run correctly

Matt, there is definitely some good mojo up front.

I trimmed mine at the cut line and it was probably the first F1 body I ever mounted, that didn't need additional trimming to keep it from dragging.

If the pictures are an indication, the quality of these bodies could turn other Retro shells on their collective ears. Other bodies down the pike?

I got a few questions on the proportions of the body , including the back spoiler height and length vs. my competitions.

Here's some pics .

I'll go back and add text when I get a chance.

100_0808.jpg
The above shows the totally different nose shape, front spoiler location, cockpit location, crisper detailing of ducts and stacks, etc.

100_0812.jpg
Spoiler length is virtually identical 2.400" .

100_0809.jpg
Spoiler heights. As I mentioned to Cap Henry in a PM, it might appear mine is a tiny bit taller, but that's because of
the crisper shape of the mold/ crisper pull. The one on the right actually measures a tiny bit taller/deeper.

100_0806.jpg
Totally different front profiles.

100_0815.jpg
I'm not sure what it is on top of the body in the front upright area, but there isn't one on the other side.
This is the "good" side in the 2.500" area where you try to stick on your bullet-proofing.
One of the reasons I felt a new M7C needed to be made, along with the last clear one I had (and will ever have)
being .008" thick on one side and .004" on the other.

100_0818.jpg
The "bad' side. If a 2-1/2 inch area of rough slag doesn't justify repair, guys like me will come up with a solution to the problem.

Mike Swiss,

Thank you so much for coming up with this new version of the M7C it appears to have addressed the problems with the other version.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

I took the "Plain Jane" M7 I used for the review process and spruced it up a bit for Mr. Swiss.

As I alluded to in the below thread, the first batch of bodies couldn't possibly cover all the orders, but "Vacu-form Vinnie" did manage to pull more than I expected.

http://slotblog.net/...it/#entry518013

They went out today to the first 4 domestic raceways that ordered them.

If you are a customer of;

HMS

HVR

Thazer

Tom Thumb

they should have them Thursday or Friday.

Also, with the holidays, my mail came in very late, but I did manage to bend up the first MIKEA F1 production kit and got it out to Tom Thumb,

with his M7C's.

Both the bodies and the chassis kits came out superb.

At the IRRL race this weekend, Dave at Thazer, and his gang, mentioned how they were really impressed with it,

and just about all added, what's next?
