I'll be there--gotta hang with all the "retro nutz"     I talk to on Slot Blog all year long!!      +  can't miss the Retro Tokyo contingent either!! Should be a LOT of fun--- if we can fill those guys with "Imperial" grease--they should be a lot faster!!      And I hear the "Jersey" crew is coming too!!   Always fun for the guys in the east to come "thaw out"   for a few days!!

Yoshi Akiyama is now struggling to arrange his busy work schedule to find time to join us on Friday for the Cup.

Hope that everyone who can make it shows up, the Checkpoint Cup is falling into place, the power has been upgraded and with the Kingleman now to host the 1/32 race, should be a lot of racing action for everyone....  Coupes on the Flat Track, 1/32 Can Am on the Kingleman, Retro Pro on the King Track   all on Friday,  Can Am on the King Track Saturday, and F1 on the King Track Sunday..... Three great days of racing, and with all the SCRRA leaders making sure that the T's are crossed this should be the biggest Checkpoint Cup ever.....

 

Please come out for the last Checkpoint Cup Warm Up race, this coming Saturday

Although people are busy preparing for the coming New Year,　the Retro Tokyo racers, who will race at the Checkpoint Cup, will get together at Cheerio SpeedWay tomorrow.

 

Some will get necessary parts to set up their cars for the race during New Year holidays.

 

Kamo-san will bring a couple of his new Can-Am chassis for us.

I have just got a special gift from Gary Clinton Jr. & Sr., very active racers at IRRA Retro East.

They were going to come to race at the Checkpoint Cup but will not make it this time.

On behalf of them I will wear this cap to race fiercely like them at the Cup.

 

 

Gary Jr. asked me to say hello to Duran.

Finally I have managed to start thrashing for the Checkpoint Cup.

This evening will be a one for cutting Can-Am & F-1 bodies.

It is so cold in the basement, so I will do it in a dining room, which has good warm air conditioning & bigger table.

My wife would get mad but she is out of town to visit my son's family who are now staying at my mountain villa.

 

Tomorrow, Saturday, will be a day to prepare BB front tires, front axle collars as well as to set up several Can-Am & F-1 chassis.

I hope I will be able to start packing all the slot stuff necessary for CPC on Sunday, because my work will start on Monday & I will leave on Tuesday for LAX.

Finally, I have stated thrashing for CPC.

My goal would be, hopefully: all the following done this weekend:

1.   Cutting bodies & make them ready to mount on chassis.

2.   Preparing necessary parts such as axle collars, BB fronts.

3.   Setting-up Can-Am & F-1 chassis as back-ups.

 

Fortunately, all the bodies are already painted by Noose, while all the chassis are built by Kamo-san.

Monday will be a starting day of my office after a long new year holidays and in the late afternoon I will start packing for CPC.

 

On Tuesday, I will take a flight leaving Tokyo around noon for LAX, arriving there on the morning of Tuesday because of the difference of time.
