Come on out for the King Track this Saturday..... Last Chance to dial in the cars for the Checkpoint Cup, the second weekend in January.... Be sure to wear shorts because we are expecting warm weather and a lot of trash talking...... Hope that our East Coast friends won't mind, it was 85 in the Valley today, and you can always take a break from that lovely winter weather and come on out and join us....
Remember, the power on the King Track has brand new relays and battery, so try your cars and come see for yourselves... Show up and support Buena Park Raceway, it's the only one we got !

The LAST Parma Checkpoint warmup race today saw all the usual stuff and a few surprises. F1 had Jerry Johnson 1st, Ben Cervantes Jr. was 2nd and Tracy Chin (SURPRISE!) was 3rd. In Can Am Duran Trujillo prevailed over Don Campbell and Jerry Johnson. Duran Trujillo broke John Gorski's 2 year old Can Am qualifying record of 4.00 with a blistering 3.96! Another surprise was Nesta Szabo being 2nd fastest Can Am qualifier at 4.08!! More to follow in the race report!
A special thanks to Mrs Tim Wilkens who had Tim's Birthday cake delivered to the track for the racers!! Happy Birthday Tim! A special thanks also to Nesta and his girlfriend Kathy Mitome for the SUPER Parma Checkpoint posters and to Mill Conroy and Dennis Samson for all their help with the race award plaques!

Another great day of Racing at Buena Park Raceway..Congratulations for the New World Record in Qualifying for the SCRRA, and Duran laid to rest about any questions of High Power, Low Power, Power to the People, whatever, we now have consistent, good power with the new relays and the new Optima Battery, and again, Big Thank You's are in order for Bryan Warmack , Jim Swofford, Sam Rackham, and myself and Marc Franco, who all helped in getting the King Track Power up to shape....
Bryan works tirelessly to insure that everything is up to par, and he was the one who came through to get the new relays and battery, and Jim Swofford donated his time to make sure that the wiring was done properly, with the great aide of Sam Rackham.
Great turn out, a lot of testing going on, and great to see Canaan come down, Tracy Chin, Phil Nyland, and others that have not been racing for a long time, Tim Hould is another along with James Grimstead......
Tremendous thank you to Flygirl for making the wonderful new Checkpoint Cup Poster !!!
A lot of people , like John Cukras-Bryan-Nesta-Flygirl-myself are working hard to make this upcoming race a success, and I do not leave out T.J.Albu and Jerry Johnson, who are bringing over the Pure Naptha and sprayer to glue the track on Friday, so that we have a good racing surface.....
One last request, please, let the people in charge make the decisions on the track gluing, as we all know the problems that we experienced yesterday, T.J. had the track right for the last several months, but yesterday we ended up with a double glued track that was not enjoyable, not T.J's fault, someone else had an outside opinion and the extra glue sucked! Just my opinion,

I missed cake??? Dammit. . .
The glue on the track was not too much. The glue on the braid was too much. That's why some cars did not like it.

Looks like Nesta got one of those "parking-lot motors" he mentions so often on Facebook and other public forums...
Congrats to Duran for holding the flag for SCRRA and retro racing in California.
many thanks to Bryan Warmack for making the right decisions as needed and to all who are helping to make this event as good as it should be.
