The Sano - Race Results
#1
Posted 10 October 2007 - 04:26 PM
Various racers have volunteered to take and post pictures. Along with that, Greg "Cheater" Wells has offered to post results as quickly as possible (he is racing) and give some race commentary.
I'll of course let other participants post while they are here.

You expect this thread to sit here un-hijacked until sometime on Saturday?!
I'm leaving for Chi-town at 6 AM tomorrow; hope to spend the night in St. Louis. Cya there!
Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

Like by keeping the thread locked except when we're posting to it.
And then there's always the delete button...

Since we seem to be the first Sano attendees to how up, we got the primo pit spaces and have already cherry-picked the parts wall.
Where are the rest of you guys?

As mentioned Greg and Jay Guard pulled in while I was getting Ray Carlisi from the airport and picking up the plaques.
Alan Reeder from Colorado also was at the track when I arrived and Jay Kisling pulled in about a half hour ago.
Cheater is welcome to log in on this computer but it's not very secure so I'm not sure he wants everyone to see the "King of the World" moderator screen.

I really shouldn't try to use Swiss's computer when I've had only two and a half hour's sleep...Sooo... Cheater has already cloned himself into Mike Swiss. Can't log on as you?
I thought I had logged out Swiss and logged myself in...

The feelings of those who have run Two (the flat track) are that it is a capital D Driver's track...
Pappy (Butch Dunaway) and Ted Melton showed up a couple of hours ago, so the plot thickens.

The rainbow colors of the offical Sano T-shirt. I've already got mine... If you didn't come to the race and want one, you might give Mike a ring after the event to see if there are any left in your size...
Left to right, noted racer Roy Hood (formerly of LA, now living in downtown Chicago), Jay Guard (via Germany; Fresno; Austin, Tx, and Anniston, AL) , and Chicagoland's fearsome proprietor, Mike da Swiss. You'd have to work to assemble a trio of better racers anywhere. (Roy couldn't hold still...)
The wall o' parts, which was cherry-picked by early arrivals, who thought they'd pulled off a real coup on the racers to arrive over later. Then the UPS man came and dropped off five packages of replenishment stock. Basically, if you need a part for a D3 car, Mike's got it for you, from 26 tooth crowns to RTR scratchbuilt cars.
Thrashing away after driving in from Ohio, Butch "Pappy" Dunaway and Ted "TRM124" Melton.
