I hesitated posting a link to this incredible model-building thread over at the Model Cars Magazine forum simply because it is 71 pages long (!), but the level of craftsmanship exhibited by Bill Davis of Richmond, MO, is simply too mind-blowing not to share.

Bill started with a 1/24 Revell 'Cuda plastic kit, but by the time he's done, very little of the parts that came in the box will have been used.

You see, Bill decided he'd scratchbuilt a twin-turbo Hemi engine for this model almost entirely out of aluminum stock.

And once he'd accomplished that, he decided to scratch a brass chassis for the car, including accurate suspension and steering. Take a look at the rack and pinion unit he fabbed...

Here's the link to the full thread over at the Model Cars Magazine forum:

71 Cuda, all aluminum hemi

Like I said, mind-blowing...

With some more practice and improvement Mr. Davis might be able to build some slot frames.

Wow, that's pretty work!

That's why I wanted to post it here, Don. It isn't a slot car, but that's not important to me.
