Wow! That is one HUGE event Dennis! Thanks for posting valid points as to why it wouldn't happen over here. The cars are for sale & you can get the track, even just run them on wooden routed flat tracks, it's just the fact they ain't brass & music wire... Plastic 1/32 cars? Oh no thank you
Would love to race at something like that for sure! Not as big as such but racing a few years in an HO 24hours with 8 teams these kind of large events .... ROCK!!!

I understand the Fray races might be as close as we get over here. Of course if the Checkpoint Cup keeps growing ...

Paul, you should try racing 1/32 plastic cars.... They are a lot of fun, less dependent on cheating, and club racing on wood tracks is as fun or more fun than Retro..... Just my opinion, but I race both

Have raced plastic 1/32 cars for many years on wooden routed/copper tape tracks and love racing them.

This is proof that people will come out in huge numbers to race slot cars. One thing that I noticed is the absence of huge pit boxes. Low cost ,level performance, limited tuning or modifications. All things I'm sure attracted this giant field of racers. Duplicate those traits and you will have turn outs like that here in the U.S. OH!.....did I forget...cars that look like actual cars.

Looks like hand out tires/wheels along with probable handout motors too , certainly makes for a level & fair playing field

When I posted this link I wasn't trying to promote one time of racing over another. I just don't think you can compare the two at all.
