We had a retro Can-Am race at DJ's on January 15.
There is a glimmer of hope that the track may stay open if there is enough support
over the next few weeks, months, etc.
Eight of us ran Can-Am on the challenging Dadds Corner Climb track.
The cast of characters - Rick Davis, Bob Appelle, Nelson Swanberg, Bob Foster,
Rich Attee, Steven ?, a gent I hadn't met before, and Mark Miller.
Sorry for not getting everyone's name.
There were the usual crashes and carnage. Bob's motor was torn out in one incident.
Rick Davis came away with the win, with 315 total laps.
Special thanks to Jay, "Rabbit", and the other guys who opened the raceway
and prepped the track.
After the Can-Am, there was a flexi stock car race with six racers. These cars
really tore around the track.
Hope that DJ's can stay alive - come on out and race if you can...
Thanks, Mark M.
