These seem pretty popular with model builders and I've always like them myself. The Cartrix version is rather pricey and would need a bit of work to run with the other cars from this period in my collection. Soooo, I figured I'd try to build my own.
I started out with a body from Dubro but it's rather short and doesn't have much detail at all. Luckily, a very inexpensive kit from Hawk poppred up on ebay so I snapped it up. Over the long weekend, I gotten this far. It runs better than it looks and for a first attempt, I think it looks decent enough. Still have so work to do on the sides and cleaning up the axles a bit. I'm not sure if I'm going to attempt to add the exhaust pipes just yet.
