Anyone have any plans for a slox car box? Or layouts that they are happy with?

Just trying to get a few ideas...

Doug, that is a great box you have going, most more current boxes that I have seen and built are much like your concept, the only difference being size.  I tend to use a smaller box because of being easier to carry and the fact that I race on several small ovals either in a garage or basement where size is at a premium.  Be careful about building your own box because it might become a sub hobby as, no matter how great your current box is, you will always think of some changes you would like to make and or you will get people at the track asking where you got your box and if you build them to sell.

Doug,

You must have a lot of cars. I only bring the cars I'm racing. Think pit space. I had a nice big box I sold to a younger racer with big arms.

Doug, as Spencer has said, that's a great start on your box. I'm a short guy so I might have a problem carrying something that big fully loaded with cars, controller, tools, & other slot parts. <G> But it's nice to have room to keep everything in one place too. A few years back, a local racer built a chest-size slot box, but Earl was a big guy. It was so big, we used to have him reserve a pit table at races with this box. <LOL> Doug, be sure to post more photos of your slot box as you proceed. Finally, show us a picture when you have it loaded.<G>

Boxes can become a disease, you always think of things to improve. Very nice box, the only thing I would recommend is a small periscope to keep an eye on the competition, LOL.
