After I "sort of" recovered from the Sano, I had to start to prepare for three nights of racing in conjunction with the iHobby show that ran past midnight each evening.

So I've been late in thanking all the racers who made the trip out to Chicago for the first of many annual Sano races. Everyone's great attitude lead to the most positive vibe I've ever experienced at a big race.

Thanks go out to the sponsors: Ron Hershman of O/S Bodies, Dave Gallagher of K&S Engineering, Joe "Noose" Neumeister, and Eddy MacDonald.

Special thanks to Greg "Cheater" Wells for his tireless "almost live" race coverage that was extremely instrumental in the success of the event and the future of Retro racing.

Last, but not least, Allan Reeder, for letting my fiancee, Jackie, secretly buy back the super-special Noose Sano body from him after he outbid me for it earlier. When I opened one of my birthday presents on this past Saturday and it was inside, I was speechless. I had no idea despite a small hint from Dennis Samson in of his post-Sano posts.

:laugh2: I was told about it right after Allen won it but we were held to secrecy! Didn't you notice the level of discomfort when you asked at the resturant how we knew your birthday was coming up, as you blew the candles out on your cake? :D

As I said before, the Sano was the best event I have ever attended. Enjoy the body!

Groovy, man! I can dig it! :D

Hey Mike:

Thanks running a great event, and all your hospitality. The ride in the "Cayman" was a real treat. Happy Birthday again.

Mike,

I had a great time at a great track! I look forward to coming back and racing in this event for years to come.

Ray, is that "Cayman" as in Porsche?

Be Good,

Keith,

If Ray's reference was in regards to Mike's ride, it's "Cayman" as in SVT Ford Focus...

I got to ride in the Focus SVT also. :laugh2:

I leave further discussion on this matter for Mike to comment on.

Oops, I am now advised that Mike does indeed have a new Porsche Cayman. Mea culpa...

All I know is what we followed through the maze that is Chicago on our way to Friday's that Sunday night...

I've been wanting to test drive a Cayman for a while now, if I would have known that Mike had one...

Karen and I have held off getting a "fun" car until we move to Seattle, she is still lobbying for an Audi TT, my first choice is a vintage Porsche 356, but I'll take a Cayman. :D

Be good,

A dealer in the area had deals on new 2007 "S" models that were too difficult to pass up.

They were as cheap as advertised used '06s and 07s with 10K+ miles.
