What is "state of the art" in this class, right now?

My research on Slotblog tells me there is not a lot of development going on in this class. The only kit specifically for stock cars as far as I can tell is the R-Geo Warrior.

Mike Katz posted pics of a very straightforward stock car chassis in 2012. I'm very tempted to make one just like it, using a new super wide Chicagoland bracket.

Your opinion is appreciated :D

We are not racing stock cars in our Retro Tokyo racing program, but some of us enjoy running stock cars with Kamo-Square chassis. They run very well on our Gerding King.

I will bring one to the coming RetroPalooza 5, along with a new one based on a successful version of our Can-Am chassis.

I built one out of a cut-up JK X25R that worked pretty well.

:) Hi Pablo!!

That chasis I posted works well on all types of tracks and I have built many just like it for customers and every one handles beauifully. It is very straightforward to build, too. Make a copy of it and you will like it.

As for the wide bracket it is too wide for the 3-inch track on a Stock Car I believe and you would lose the added strength of the .078" rail going up the rear of the bracket.

I have built a few with Chicagoland 1-inch brackets and they are awesome!! I think the specs are posted there but if not I will repost for you.

I can vouch for the fact that Mike's chassis is very simple but has been a winner since day one, on both road courses and ovals.  Jersey John built one of the RGEO warrior chassis, and I can say that it makes a very nice handling car. Kit or scratchbuilt, either one of these would be an excellent choice.

I'd kinda like to see if anybody has some opinion of the why of a good chassis - what are the parameters, what's the car doing in there that we are addressing, what solutions & such. "Copy mine, it works great" is fine as far as it goes, but it's a little like "give a man a fish..."

Thanks everybody, especially Mike K.  I will check that width issue with the wide bracket.

I don't needs specs, thanks, I can see what needs to be done.
