There's an easy way to get 10 or 15 guys running the same speed - the top 5 just need to slow down two tenths!
Maybe we need a weighting rule, every time you win, you have to carry another 10 grams on the car!
just kidding, I will go look at all the photos.

How about those tiny torsion bars extending from the Mainrail(s) to the pans ?
No, second thought is the narrow tires. The Alpha drilled hubs are the lightest. Plasic hubs with the inner section cut with Narrowed tires will most likely be lighter than full width Alpha's. Haven't weighed, but its a guess. Less rubber contact with the track equals less drag. The rubber (Kelly's?) must have the perf balanced compound to give the right amout of grip/slide in a narrow tire setup.

Narrow tires?
Ding ding! We have a winner! I'll even tell ya it's Alpha big hub wonder rubber narrowed to the hub. While I continue to try to improve my performance, this is the one change I've made that has really had an impact. While this might not work at other tracks, on a glued up punchbowl like BP it's worth a tenth or more on a CA car. Doesn't seem work on a F-1 though. While other tracks are starting to talk about spec tires, I think we already have it at BP. If your trying to run anything softer than wonder rubber you are not doing yourself any favors. If your going to say you can't hook up with tires that hard I would like to suggest that you go back and look at your car and make sure all the basics are good. And yes this is kind of an attempt to get past the zapping issue and maybe share some things that really do help. Well there's one from me, now it's your turn

Jerry's cars from the last King track race at BPR...................
Jerrys great F1 car. Slick 7 kit. Except for a gear problem Jerry could have given a Duran a run for his money at the Parma Checkpoint.
At first I thought Jerry was talking about the use of magnet wire in place of the rear half of the lead wires. Probably saves 1/2 gram.
Jerry's Can Am and I believe this has the narrowed tires. Jerry's cars ALWAYS look this GOOD!!

Mill Conroy's car from the same race. The same basic as light as possible lead wire set up. Here the wires have been "trained" to increase the self return effect. The guide uses a piece of nylon tube threaded onto the post to keep the body off the track and also directs any downforce from the front body to the guide.

Narrow tires, but with the right about of hardness. Then there is the issue of light weight hubs. I've heard of perforating the entire hub surface and not just what is visible. Seems like a good wall shot would squash a weak hub. Juz sayin.
There are at least two or more versions of Wonder depending on the maker, so its gets more involved than just narrow width. I like the Koford Soft Wonder and there's even super soft Wonder. I'd like to see this thread thrash the subject some more I'm sure this will make for more tire sales and experimenting. Thanks for the info Jerry and the pics Bryan -m-
