Fujimi's much-delayed 1984 MP4/2 F1 Prost/Lauda kit has been cancelled according to their website: http://www.fujimimok...42-1984-gp.html

This kit was first announced and available for pre-order in July 2013.

The official announcement (translated from the Japanese) reads as follows:

"Thank you very much look forward for your continued support of our products patronage. Well, it had been expected to launch as a new product from us this time is "1/20 scale Grand Prix Series No.54 McLaren MP4 / 2 Monaco GP" is, but I will consider it as stop the release by various reasons.

The customer had been waiting for our release, that we apologize for any inconvenience, we apologize say, you would like to ask for your understanding."

Fujimi has had poor sales of their 1/20 F1 kits in 2012-2013 and a competitor has announced a similar 1/20 McLaren MP4/2 kit due in 2014 which would certainly erode sales for both companies.

The basic MP4/2 was used through the 1986 F1 season so we may yet see an MP4/2 b or c variant produced in the future.
That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

How about a MP 4/4 ?

Dave- Tamiya has had a very good one available for many years.

Lots of aftermarket detail and accessory items are available to make this kit into most any version raced.

More recently, Model Factory Hiro (MFH) have released a 1/12 MP4/4 multimedia kit.

Lots of info and pix on the MFH blog… http://www.modelfact...n/archives/9359

Please note that the MFH kit is not intended for the casual builder- it requires a high level of both skill to complete and high level of funding to purchase (about 62,000 JPY for the kit and an additional 1,400 JPY for the "building guide" and 1,800 JPY if you desire the "Marlboro" etc optional decal sheet)
