Cap, I am very lucky to own one of Ayrton Senna's real helmets, a Bell that was next for him to wear just before he was killed, painted by Sid Mosca.
My former company in those days made his racing suits and gloves, and I kept quite a few souvenirs.
At this time, we are making some replica suits for the Senna Foundation in Brasil.
One of the amazing things in life is that sometime you can relive your youth, and in my case and after years of racing vintage cars, from GT all the way to F1 and Indy machines over the years, I was recently invited to participate and drive 1960s and early 1970s Grand Prix motorcycles in a vintage racing festival in Spain, leaving in 2 weeks. Good deal as they are rolling the red carpet for me!
But I had no equipment left other than old gloves and boots, and had to have a new suit made, and while I have about a half-dozen auto-racing helmets, their eyeport is too low to drive GP bikes, so i had to revive an old Bell Star that I used in the 1970s! Of course as all those old things, the foam padding had completely disintegrated, so after making sure that the outer shell and inner liner were sound, I removed all the inner padding and rebuilt it with modern, removable Stand 21 stuff from one of their auto-racing helmets. Fits better than it did then! I had kept new-old-stock visors, so I fitted one after I polished all the scratches off the pearl-white paint applied in 1976...
Not quite as artistic and technically advanced as some of the better modern helmets, but it will do the job!

Amigos
Thumbs up on those cool helmets. It's hard to believe that it has been thirty years ago today the journey of Senna's F1 career had taken flight. He is among the greats....but.....what if Jimmy Clark forgo that F2 race a debate that will go on forever. And don't forget prayers for Michael he also has along journey a head of him.
