The track is operational but they're still sorting out the lap counter hook-up.

I was being facetious as the white paint would be black as coal when done with a full weekend of glue racing.

Mike Shepard and I met at SpeedZone in Peachtree City yesterday and put some laps on Mike’s fleet of cars on the white King track. I had a great time and must thank Mike for the use of his cars. The track is so smooth and fast it even makes an old out of practice man feel like he can drive. Great track great fun.
On the negative side the track is so wide that putting a car on the far lane from you is a reach for a short fellow, but not something that is a real problem. The control hook-ups are odd and I had problems with what to do with the controller when I wanted to put it down. The fear of shorting out to the hookup post was a concern. That’s minor stuff.
Great track, great fun.

Does anyone have a phone number for the Peachtree City slot track, so I can call ahead to make sure they will be open before driving over?

Billy,
The phone number is listed in the raceway's entry in Slotblog's Raceway List:

Thanks, and remember, when you find yourself on a first Saturday of the month with nothing to do, come on down and play slot car with us.

You will like this place. They have a first class place. That spread Hillclimb is my favorite but the King track is nice, too.
We will see you in June.
