Folks,
This is how I put my Monogram mounting bracket to use...works well for me. It seems to keep the old butyrate body's lower edges from curling up.

Pete, very nice. Those are actually Cox mounts. That chassis looks great. Very beefy. Nice clean execution.

Joe,
Thanks for the kind words, that's actually the chassis from the XKE Jag build a good while back. Sadly, the car met with a "shop accident" and will be needing a new/old body...look for a update soon.

Nice one Pete ... solid!
Who makes those rails and is that the drop arm that would have come with the chassis kit?

Bob,
Here's the link to the build thread and subsequent track test...a bit long. http://slotblog.net/...powered-jaguar/

Thanks Pete, Sorry to hear about that sweet body getting damaged. Darn

Too bad that beautiful Jag got trashed Pete but sure you'll find something suitable to replace it - if you're dead set on the Jag try Herms as he has a lot of Pactra bodies still. Those mounts look solid.
Not familiar with that speedway chassis - is that how the motor is "meant" to be mounted or did you tweak it somewhat ? All the Kemtron related stuff i've seen relies on mounting the motor via the brass bracket but much better the way you've done it here.
You might want to re gear it a little ? Think the standard ratio for a lot of 60's 36D production sidewinder stuff was 16/48 and the kemtrons are way slower but have plenty of torque - you could try the 3:1 but suspect you'll end up around closer to 2.5 to 1 or so for a big track.

Simon,
I've have the second Jag body in house for some time, I just have to get around to painting and mounting it. The Speedway chassis is designed for that motor, I had to grind away a very small portion in order to seat the motor properly.
I seem to recall that I followed some sort of recommended gear ratio for the motor that I read somewhere...I just can't recall where I read it.

Hey Pete,
Glad you've got another one of those bodies - perfect for that chassis / motor combo and the finished car is a real beauty.
I found the 6 and 8 volt Kemtrons very fast at 3:1 on a small and tight basement track but pitifully slow on the Engleman we occasionally get up to, figured re-gearing would help - haven't had a chance to check that out but hopefully soonish.
Like the stuff you guys are bulding and running down there !
