We found a couple of these in a box. The threaded hole is much smaller than 1/8".
 
Does anyone know what they are for?

I believe that is the front motor retainer for an Eldon Concours chassis.

Thank you Joe, that was spot on, there is so much Little stuff that is difficult to see in the old ads...I had an idea it might be Dynamic but the alignment profile was wrong.
