In the 4/11/14 issue of The New Yorker's "Talk of the Town" section, there's a blip about a "superdesk" that is described as looking like a slot car track.
You gotta get it where you can, folks.

Thanks for posting guys, very interesting stuff.
Let's see, I worked in an open plan office for about 5 years - and I think that's enough for a lifetime! Seemed okay at the time, and was even sometimes stimulating for creative work, but finally I was glad to be back in an office with a door!
It really does sound like a slot track, and kudos to the New Yorker writer for thinking of that.
Speaking of which, has anybody ever poured a resin track - well, since the Mila Miglia fiberglass tracks of the 60s?

I questioned the poured resin concept of being cast in place. i would like to have seen that process. AJ has a concept for an integrated slot car track slot and braid holder that could be forced into a dovetail groove in the track. The braid would not be glued but mechanically captured by the holder. Combine that with a resin cast track and you might have the perfect slot car track. Not that it matters.

Can vision a group of slot heads breaking in overnight with routers and braid and livening up the next office meeting a little bit and breaking up a ho-hum working environment.

Would that be considered an Un-Sanctioned event.
