Stock Car is last .. Correct?
Posted 24 April 2014 - 07:36 PM
Grant recently posted on the GRRR facebook page that we will run Can-Am first, F1 second, then stockers last. So you can sleep in Bob.
Posted 24 April 2014 - 08:45 PM
Sleep in ... I work nights....LOL.
Last night I was hunting Wild Boar and Armadillo till 5:30 AM and up a 9 AM. Very little 'travel time' for work out here in the wild.
Typically 3 AM is a 'call it an early day' for me. I always come to IRRA races on less than 4 hours sleep,
I''ve raced on no sleep ... remember what that was like when you were a youngster.
So while you're and dreaming about how to win you next race I'm probably having an adrenaline rush .... fun.
Posted 26 April 2014 - 08:19 PM
I won't be making it to the race... gotta work tonite.
Grant, What I would like to do is....
Can you put me in the field for 3 classes as a No-Time/DNS and for your troubles and Greg as the host I'll buy a new pair of tires for you.
Tell me where to send the paypal entry fee tire money payment.
Have fun !!!
RWB guys don't let Danny win ....

Favor please.
Could someone 'tweet' this over to the GRRR Facebook page ... before it gets missed.
That's where most GRRR stuff is covered and I don't have an account.
TIA

Danny,
I think you'll be just fine come race time .. Home Boy ..
I'll get to hang out with ya one of these days.
Hey, if Grant doesn't get my message please tell him the above deal ... OK?

We had a great time at Greg Walker's place in Holly Hill. Maybe the most unique track in the country. The turnout was good also with 10 in Can-Am, 9 in F1 and 7 in stock cars. Next up is the Indy "500" in Melbourne, followed by Jacksonville the following week.
I want to give a thank you to Phil for running the races (race director), he always does a great job, and thank you to Greg for hosting another GRRR event.
Posted 27 April 2014 - 04:40 PM
Thanks Doc!
Were did I finish ?...
A Gator Built LTO car is comin' after y'all in the 500 (and up) race.
Might even have a drop arm under it .....
So ... "Let's Get Serious" for this one.
ALSO... to "Promote" your event ... I'm bringing not one but at least two Indy style "Promotional" cars just 'for the fun of it'.

When FB teleports us to the top secret underground prison they are building in Menlo Park, do you promise you'll come rescue us ? LOL.

DZ had a great day, winning both Can-Am and F1. Tony won stock cars one lap over me. Tony had a great day with three podium finishes. Can-Am - 2nd, F1 - 3rd, and 1st - stock cars.

"All Good" news !!!
Well... except for Danny doin his normal DZass whoopin .... after saying how fast guys were in practice.
Posted 28 April 2014 - 08:26 AM
Fun day as usual in Hell. Danny only got me by 5 in can-am. I need more practice on those high lanes. When you go to practice the top 4 lanes are always set for oval, so the only time we get to run on them is race morning, making it a super big home track advantage. Not bad for me considering he used to beat me by 30 laps. lol...

Just wanted to point out the Ed Hoffman was at the Retro South race at SpeedZone in Peachtree City, GA, on Saturday. He raced Stock Car and Can-Am and then left to drive to Savannah, where he and his wife had dinner, and then continued on to Holly Hill for the GRRR race on Sunday.
Now that is a dedicated Retro racer!!!
I enjoyed seeing Ed again and I know the Retro South guys really enjoyed having him race with them.
Hope Ed feels he was welcomed and that he also had a good time racing with the Retro South crew.
Gregory Wells
Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Congrats to DZ and Tony P on their wins and to Ed on his double header weekend.
Posted 28 April 2014 - 12:34 PM
We all had a great time at Holly Hill. Ed has become a journey man. He has been attending all of the GRRR events driving from the other side of the state. He usually gets the long distance award.

How can you not have a good time when the track owner is always laughing and has a small on his face and track time is FREE, unfortunately Danny Z races there.

If Danny did not show up, I would have won Can-Am and I could have retired. Damn. LOL...
