I originally snagged the event posters simply because I wanted to share them as nice examples of promotional art for the hobby, but dug a little deeper and was impressed with the Slot Racing Madrid Festival Week that is being held from May 30 to June 8, 2014.

The event includes 1/32 and 1/24 races, a 24 hour enduro, and a swap meet/vendor market. The venue will be a set of four tracks temporarily set up in an indoor soccer court (I think), as shown below. According to the some of the text I translated online, over 300 racers are expected for the racing events.

Not totally clear on whether Slot Racing Madrid is a club or a retail store, but what I can say is that the group is working their butts off to promote the greater hobby. Kudos to all involved!

If anyone can offer more detailed info on this organization or event, please do so.

The website for this event can be found HERE.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Seems like they are a commercial operation similar to Cruzin Bob's but on steroids or, to be more current, PEDs. Looks like they have a location as well as being an event promotor/facilitator.

Maybe Bob should go to Spain for some tips? LOL.

Yea, I'd love to travel to Spain and check out the action there. From a little reading it appears that Spain has the most active slot racing in the world.

I have been checking out worldwide slot racing for many years.

I am most impressed by MrSlotcar.com, as they have been into mobile tracks for a long time. They recently purchased a CNC to produce tracks. Very nice operation.

Takes money to make money. I am surviving. ;)

Hi Bob,

As a long time racer at Mobile Raceways, Itoo have been impressed with the tracks that have been built and the engineering that has gone into the simplicity of joining the tracks together. They are very smooth to run on and i have had a run on one of his new modular flat pack tracks which can be seen on the Mobile Raceways Facebook page.

There are thirteen different modules to choose from to make up a four lane track and each module comes painted, braided, and the section with the dead strip for lap counting/timing is wired in such a way to hook a computer or laptop to it.
