does anyone know when the bracket became available?
Bearing holes for axle oilites are D shaped.

Hi Jocke,
The motor that you show I don't think it was available in 65.
The brackets would predate the motors by 2-3 years ... IMO
Those later motors with the larger endbell bushing housing would not fit the Revell front chassis section that was designed for the first gen FT16D.
Of course those motors would work with those brackets.
Hope that helps, hope I gave you the right info.

The motors are much later, some of the last versions i Think.

Sorry, I miss understood the question.
I am pretty sure those were out in 1965 ....
Are you building for Rick's 66 R&C or is there another event for 65 cars?

I am merely in the process of planning a possible build, I do not have the right stuff for a whole build according to the proxy, but it sure is fun dreaming it up...
I recieved 4 of these brackets in a trading deal, now I must find out what to make of them...not even sure if they were part of a kit, or sold separately...

I have trial fitted the brackets to 16D as well as 36D motors with the big can bearing, and these are absolutely intended to fit the 16D.

Good luck getting a car together Jocke if you need help with other parts & info post a thread in the R&C revisited thread where our car builds are posted.
That way you can get plenty of input & feedback

Jocke,
Those are Revell brackets, intended for use with endbell drive FT-16D motors. They appear as separate items in the 1966-1/2 Auto World catalog as part number R3593.
Earlier, in the 1966 AW catalog, they were not offered separately, instead they were included with the Revell SP-80 motor part number R3393.
These brackets date to very late 1965 and would be appropriate for all 1966 cars.
