I am looking for a finished brass chassis (Inline) to replace the plastic one for my 1/32 Bentley. I will supply all of the running gear.

chassis1.jpg

The car is meant to run at Rohnert Park's (SCR) Flat track using an FK-130 motor like a Mini-Brute or Retro Hawk. I would like for the chassis to incorporate some type of torsion bar in a manner that I could should I choose create a similar chassis. (Nothing too complicated) Since it's a flat track and a hard body I would assume it would need a fairly heavy chassis and some flex to soak up the vibrations. I will use pins to attach the body.

Anybody on here that would like to give it a try please PM me with your thoughts.

Why not contact NORCAL chassis builders, such as Russ Toy or Jim Fowler, to see if they would be interested in your project? They have built 1/32 brass cars in the past, but I don't know about them being inlines. Both builders would be acquainted with the SCR's flat track. :)

Neither seemed to warm to the idea. Maybe too busy to do the work?

Post your project on SCI & HRW. You're apt to find more 1/32 interest on those boards.

Is there a market for an easy to build kit, or are you in the minority for wanting such an animal?

Minority I would assume in the states but possibly more popular in Euro. Can't be that hard to downsize the parts

What about one of Richard Macks chassis'?  He and George Turner(GT models) are going gangbusters at the moment.

I saw Richard Mack had some great looking stuff.

Are they steel only?

Are they specific to one type of body?

What kind of retail?

Richard Mack 1/32 chassis There you go Mike, looks like they're made for each specific resin shell that George produces. With retail @ 35 pounds sterling.

What's more interesting is the 1/24 Austin Mini George is now doing :D

With resin chassis or Richard Mack anglewinder !

I would say to contact Dennis Samson, but he has been on the road a lot lately. Have you thought of building your own chassis? Chris Briggs has a torsion bar design he built a few years ago, still his website.

I was hoping to get one built for me to study. Mack's chassis while very nice are for eurosport cars and not wheat I had in mind. I'm looking at moire of a retro style chassis but made for my 1/32 LMP Hard Body with SCALE wheels & tires. Richard Mack may be making scale chassis for GT but they are no where to be found on either of their websites.

Here is my chassis for a 1/32 DTM hardbody. It is VERY simple and easy to build. The only thing that would be different for your build is that I used "Euro" size tires.  You would just have to recalibrate for your scale sized tires.

It is nice and heavy and handles great on a flat track.  I don't know if you can see it but the pans are only attached at the front so the body has a certain amount of movement.
