Thanks Guys !
It was a relaxing restoration that was done over a couple of years.. make the fun last.
Sorry skeeterbuck I didn't take any before or during pictures.
It was hand painted blue, I think the owner used a roller instead of a brush because it was on the windows too.
The 'glass' was sanded, polished and cleared to get them to look the way they do.
I didn't use any chemical stripper on the body, melted too many over the years trying that 'stunt'.
The car was rebuilt with all NOS parts, Revell SP motor, kit parts pack, gear, axles...etc. The wheels are K&B and right now I can't remember what brand the tires are. The car would need foam rear tires to get around the track properly. I have a pair of NOS Revell foam slicks on hand. NOS Pactra decals were applied.
Here are the rest of the pictures.

Bob I usually forget to take "before and "during" pics myself.
I have used Scalecoat II Washaway paint remover with excellent results on plastic. Soak it for about 10 minutes or so until you see the paint bubble up and then scrub it away with a toothbrush under running water.
You can usually find it in hobby stores that specialize in model railroad supplies. I DON'T recommend Testors ELO (easy lift off) paint remover as it makes the styrene plastic very brittle and will cause it to crack under very light pressure. Not good especially for a slot car body.
I like the wheels on your car. I would have never thought that they were K&B's. Also the chassis and motor look great. Congrats on a great "save".

skeeterbuck,
Thanks for the tips and the complements.
You might enjoy this save also.

Joe Mig, Have you tried the "Washaway" product? How long do you leave the Ez-Off on the body?
