Tom,

The "No max body height " is not mentioned anywhere. The rules stated "Can Am rules except,,,,,".

With the exception being : Maximum overall body height including spoiler is 1 3/4". Again, this is how I interpreted the body rules. This is why rules start out as simple one page affairs and end up as a small novel. Different eyes...different angles.

I say tomato, he says tomata. Maximum height including spoiler....... It was thought to be clear to two of us 2 years ago, too.

Now if peeps don't make the mistake of subtracting the max allowed spoiler, 1/2", from the max allowed height to come to "a body height" of 1.375. That is not the intent. The intent is to make it very simple and only have to check a maximum height, however one may attain it.

Knowing that it is almost impossible to mount a RP body that low from prior experience is a help.

Maybe if it were written as "don't look at the CanAm rules and apply them to RP unless instructed" ;) the confusion that is created  when using one pix for two rule sets may have been avoided.

There is a minor error that was overlooked in scrubbing the old D3 rule set when creating the SCRRA rules. The MAC bodies are wider in some areas than the max 3 3/16 width rule. That should read 3.25

Lets go rac'n!

2014 Rules

RP-3. Body rules
All SCRRA Can Am body rules apply except:
RP-3a. Bodies must be originals or exact reproductions of pre-1974 Can-Am or Sports/GT pro-racing bodies by MAC, Associated, Dynamic etc. or from new molds made in the spirit of the period bodies. A rear spoiler is allowed with a maximum length of 1/2".  Maximum overall body height including spoiler is 1 3/4". Maximum overall body length including spoiler is 7". Slight  trimming of the body beyond the cut line at the front outside corners is allowed to correct natural drooping, only as illustrated below:

These are just my suggestions & I would like to leave this matter to BOD.

There will be an official announcement on this, but so guys can get rolling on their cars,in the spirit of this being a less restrictive class,we will be going with no maximum rear height on the body ( no material can be added to raise the body taller) with a 1/2" maximum rear height on the added spoiler.

Mike,
This is a very reasonable decision.

Just a fun fact to ponder.

Jay Kisling won a Retro Pro race on the 'Zone's King with NO spoiler.

Spoons with the holes in it so the meat comes through. Learned from Bill Cosby.

I doubt you'll see spoilers run on any Gerding's.

If you do, it'll probably be in conjunction with hard Wonder tires, and possibly, also narrowed.
