This could be a dumb question. I was just wondering, so I thought I'd ask the experts:

Just for giggles and grins, do you think an X12 arm would perform well in the new Pro Slot 4002 FK can, or would the magnets interfere with the arm's power and speed?

I've read that magnets and arms have to be matched properly for best performance. The X12 arm is pretty quick, and the FK magnets are pretty strong. Has anyone given it a try yet? If not, what would be the likely result?

BTW, above question is posed also wondering if the arm would even fit in the can. Not sure of dimensions, as I don't have them posted to my office wall.   :D

Pro Slot makes an arm to fit that set up. It is what we use for Retro Pro. Once I use up a 4002FK I'll stuff one of my arms in it.

A c-can X-12 is too long and won't fit. You might have better luck getting an X-12 arm made for a strap can to work. You might have to do some grinding of the inside of the endbell to make it all work.

I've taken some Koford 27 arms made for strap cans and made them work inside Hawk 6 set ups. The Hawk 6 is very similar in size to the PS4002 series.

Both Proslot and Koford make G12 arms that would fit, you need a replacement endbell however due to comm size. Check their websites for the part numbers, www.proslot.com   and    www.koford.com/slot

Sam,

I'd love to hear the results. In my simpleminded theory, these strong magnets might work well with an x-12 arm. If not counterproductive, I would think it capable of producing a really fast motor. In theory, of course.

Best,

jb
