To assist in choosing which features to build into your chassis for which race, and also to help put a date on an existing chassis, here's a features matrix I built up from published information (mostly Model Racing Journal).  A few things to remember:

This chart is based on published information (text, drawings and photos), which is probably (but not guaranteed to be) correct.

Pro's did whatever they had to do to make their cars work for them on race day.  Not everything you see or read in the funny papers (MRJ) in going to exactly match what you see in the chart; the chart represents general trends in pro chassis design.  Not all pro builders followed these trends all the time; if they did, (duh!) there wouldn't be any new design innovations.

None of this should be taken as a set of rules; it is intended to be design guidance only!

Keeping this in mind, here's the chart:

The information on this chart is dated: 08 Aug 2014

As new or updated information becomes available, the chart (and the version date) might be changed (if and when I get a round Tuit).  :roflmao:

Now, go build something!  :big_boss:

Thanks a LOT for doing this Steve :good: Makes it very handy having the info all in one place ..

Been having like 8 or more of the scans that Rick posted open at the same time trying to get an idea of what features to put together :laugh2:

Shall prove to be very good guidance .
