The Steve McBride Memorial race will be held Saturday on September 6 at Flashbacks Model Raceway in Snellville, GA
 
This race is being held in honor of Steve McBride who passed away in October 2013. Steve was a good friend to many of us and regularly attended SERRA and Retro South races for many years.

Flashbacks was one of Steve's favorite places to come race and he often drove from Alabama just to attend weekly races there. It's easy to see why he loved racing there, Larry and Tina are always great hosts; they go out their way to accommodate the racers and always have plenty of great parts in stock.
 
The track will be open Friday from 7 PM to 11 PM; however they do have kids racing scheduled to start at 8 PM and they usually last until 9:30 PM.
 
Saturday the doors open at 8 AM. Running order will be Stock Car, Can-Am, then Formula One.
 
There are several hotels in the area but he closest hotel is a mile down the road HERE.

Man I'm glad I saw the email about your Facebook post Ralph. I'm so bad about checking that account. Been so busy the last little while I almost missed this.

 

I will be there for sure. Steve was one of the finest men I've ever known. He was a friend to everyone. I miss him terribly. I appreciate your efforts putting this event together to honor Steve. Looking forward to seeing everyone and getting to race on the paperclip.

That's exactly right.  I think of Steve McBride often.  He was a good man who would do anything for anybody at anytime with a smile on his face.
