CanAm Plus
This is the first time we have run this class. This was not an official race, more of a demo to see how they run. 1 minute heats were run on all 8 lanes. I dont have the time sheet (maybe Doc does), but the fastest recorded time with Tony P's car driven by Marcus to a 3.7???, a couple of tenths faster than the normal CanAms.
Ed Hoffmans car weighed 86gms.
Terry Tawneys car weighed 84gms
Doc Doughertys car weighed 86.4gms
Marcus's car weighed 92gms

Finally, I am standing in the middle, after 3 second place finishes. I am thinking that I won the first IRRA Can-Am Plus race in the US. The chassis had no hinges and weighed in at 86.7 grams RTR.
Grant, thank you for posting the race report and the pics.

Nice one Doc How did the car feel? Was the build pure Can Am + or more of a modified regular Can Am?

The build was all CanAm Plus. Chassis had no hinges; only 5 rails of 039 wire each side. And the body was pinned in front of the front tires. The car had tons of bite. I ran Alpha Wonder and still had too much bite. I am going to build a second car that is stiffer. I think that I could go with less bite.
With the motivation from building the CanAm Plus, I built a CanAm chassis in a similar manner having no hinges. This car also had plenty of bite and I had to run Koford SSW. I finished 2nd to Tony, but in all honesty, Terry was the one to beat. He brake a guide flag half way thru the race.
