Germany's Fola Oso seemingly has a new chassis in the works and here's some images of it. Fola indicated a couple of days ago that he'd send me a bit of info about it, but I can't wait any longer to post these pics! Pretty sure that this is a 1/24 car, based on the motor size.

Scale racing in Germany is at a level unmatched by just about anywhere else as best I can tell.

Looks like Fola has started a new company, Slotfabrik, to market his terrific work, but the website is currrently only offering a number of bodies, though it is clear from the categories already created that more is to come.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Greg, thanks for posting this. Fola really has a brilliant mind and is a true craftsman. I've been watching his car builds on here for a couple of years. Whether it's a chassis or making a body out of carbon fiber, his craftsmanship is top notch.

If you remember a couple of years ago he did a buildup of a couple of Dodge NASCARs that were incredible. I sent him a PM about possibly buying one of them since I am a Dodge fanatic, but never heard back. I figure he was way too busy to reply as he races a lot of classes and different body types and he probably is in constant build mode.

These cars pictured are gorgeous, and very realistic looking. His designs are very well thought out.

I guess this is what they mean by "German engineering". ;-)

I have got to go over there on a buying trip one of these day. I've done that for trains so I guess slot car chassis are next.

They cost a pretty penny. Or two. I aspire to own one someday. The quality of what you are buying is top notch. Just depends on how willing you are to buy quality bar none.

Not to bad really. Less than a Eurospirt but more than a retro chassis. The bodies are fiberglass and carbon fibre.

What are the two little dots mid-chassis?  Magnets?  Also, do all those little chips mean that it's set up for DCC?

I am guessing based on the other circuits around them that they are part of the lighting system- possibly capacitors for constant lighting. It's frustrating when racing in the dark, then coming off the lane and the turn marshall can't find your car because the car's lights are "out".

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.
