I was wondering if anyone might remember seeing this car in the past. The gentleman I got it from was named Lonsky.

Hi Dave,

I've never seen it before but I'm glad I just saw it now.

Thanks.

The Russkit Marcos Mantis was the original body I believe.  Some good re-pops out today including one by Parma.

Hi Dave,

That paint job(black stripe, pearl white with gold highlights, black db dot) was sold out of the showcase at local

Chicago area raceways. I remember buying a mclaren m8a with that same paint job from Tom Thumb in Evanston around 69.

It may have also been sold all over the country.

I simply mean, you didn't have to special order it. It was available across the counter.

Most of the pros, as well as the ams and semi-pros with bucks up, would special order from Dave Bloom in their favorite

colors with their names, numbers and sponsors all hand painted on the outside.

I remember wishing I had the bucks for the custom paint job.

Thanks gentlemen for the interesting and insightful input.  This particular slot car is one of my "treasures" and love getting the info.
